PASTORAL COUNSELING WITH A PASTORAL COUNSELOR
With 20+ years of ministry experience, Hugh Heinrichsen has provided individual and couples care and counseling to over 500 individuals in the greater Chicagoland area and Douglas County, Oregon. He holds a B.S in Psychology from Corban University and a M.A. in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University. His company, Leading the Church, exists to help individuals grow in their ability to serve Jesus and His church, leading others to do the same.
While I am a master’s level pastoral counselor, I am not, nor do I claim to be a licensed professional counselor. My primary aim is to assist people on their journey toward spiritual maturity through clinically informed counseling theory and technique. In my work, I have experience with spiritual direction, couple’s counseling, life development, and other related issues.
As a Pastoral Counselor I operate from a Christian worldview. While it is not expected that every person I counselor be a Christian, the foundation of what I bring to the process is based on the Bible. I see my role as a collaborative facilitator of change. I seek to join with clients in a respectful way that acknowledges their own wisdom through practical, supportive, and empathetic connection. I recognize the unique challenges of each individual and system and seek to integrate emotions, thoughts, and actions to enable fuller, happier lives.
